13th of May Alsou has taken part in the popular russian show "The Domino Principle". She talked with hosts about good manners. She was asked what would she wear if she had been invited to an english queen. She answered: "Not jeans, of course. I would wear a dress of rose, or blue colour." She was asked what is the most difficult manner for her. Alsou said: "It is sitting straight, not touching the sofa with my back".

16th of May Alsou had a concert in Belgorod (Russia). The tickets were rather expensive but the hall was full. The public of all ages came to see Alsou's performance. The concert was with fireworks & special effects. Alsou sang & danced as well with her dancers. She looked
very free. The performance consisted of three parts: russian, english & russian. Alsou premiered her new russian song. "You're My Й 1" was performed with V.Baikov, the author of Alsou's russian songs. During every little break the public gave her lots of flowers. Alsou's portrait appeared in russian parliament's exibition of Valery Belkovsky. He draws only pictures of VIP. You may see Alsou's portrait in a white handchair near a toy
dog.

It turned out that Alsou was going to record a duet with Lionell Richy in 2001. The decision was taken but in autumn 2001 the plans of "Universal" changed because of contractual conflict.

The "Discography" is updated. The
song "Den Rojdenya
Lubvi" was sang by Alsou
& russian opera star N.Baskov on the concerts of composer Igor Krutoy.
But the album version is sang by Alsou alone. The album doesn't contain
the song "Vse Ravno" because it's promoted by "Universal
Music Russia". By Alsou's contract with "Real
Records" they could include into a new version of russian album four
new songs. But firstly they decided to include five new songs, & that was
one of the reasons of conflict between "Real Records" & "Universal".
Alsou has taken part in developing the disc's design & has given its
name.

The
premiere of russian film "Atlantis" was held on 29th of April im
Americal Cinema House (Moscow). Alsou & her father Ralif Safin stood near the entrance giving her posters to everybody. The walls were decorated with photos
of film stars, & one of the walls was dedicated to Alsou. Alsou
said that her work on the sountrack is the beginning of great way &
announced her wish to shoot in a film. Her fans applaused every time her
name appeared in film titles. Has watched the film Alsou became sad: "It's a pity that I hasn't played a role in the film. Such a beautigul, touching love story." She stated the reason: the shooting took place on the coast of Black sea with nature shootings & she couldn't leave there. Alsou had to perform at concerts, shoot videos. She says:
"The only thing I'm proud is recording two great songs." The russian press says Alsou's father is very glad bacause she hasn't appeared in the bed scenes of the film.

The
single "Run Right Out Of My Time" will be released on 13th of May
with #5 of "Gala" magazine. By the way this date is two years
since Alsou's international debut on "Eurovision-2000". Click to see a larger cover.

"Univeral
Music" announced about continuing of its work with Alsou
after 7 month long pause. Very soon a new song will appear on russian radiostatoins - "Run
Right Out Of My Time".
The authors are Ian Levine, Clive Scott, & the
arrangement is done by Brian Rawling (Jennifer Lopez "Waiting For
Tonight", Enrique Iglesias "Bailamos", Cher
"Believe"). The song is in dance style, untypical for Alsou.
It was recorded for Alsou's english album but for some reason it
wasn't included into its russian release. Now it will be included into new
english album of Alsou (autumn 2002), at the same time Alsou's
new russian album will be released. Alsou will be back to Europe!

The
single "Run
Right Out Of Time" will
be sold only with #5-2002 of "Gala" magazine. Alsou is on
the cover & her life is the main theme of the magazine - how the tatar
girl became the brightest russian pop star. The great promo company of
"Gala" includes 200 videos on MTV & hot rotation on
russian radiostations.

Alsou
& her general manager A.Shevchenko have given interview to
one of russian radiostations. They talked about russian film
"Atlantis" & said they have written three songs in London
studio. The texts were written by Alsou, the music was written by A.Shevchenko
& V.Baikov (the authors of Alsou's russian songs). Alsou
said how she writes songs: "When I write songs I must be in a special
mood. For example if someone says to ne now "write a song", I
would never do it, I would sit for hours on one place & look in one
point - and nothing will come out. Sometimes I can watch TV or even have a
dinner. And suddenly something clicks in me, & I run to my grand piano
& remember the song." She said she sometimes see tears on the faces
of spectators while she sings her self-written song "Angel
Mine". Alsou said she likes "The Moon Sonata" by
Bach. The Moscow solo concerts of Alsou are dated to the early
November 2002. She will sing in three languages - russian, english & her
natural tatar language.

Alsou's
video for "Vse Ravno" occupied 1st place in russian MTV
chart "Russian Ten".

The russian
love story "Atlantis" with two Alsou's songs in soundtrack
is in russian cinemas now.
